The Physician Assistant will be responsible for providing preventive and acute and chronic endocrine related health care services to patients ranging in age from 18 to geriatrics. The NP/PA will evaluate complex health histories and perform examinations, diagnose and treat from acute to chronic conditions of the patients. In addition, the provider will interpret laboratory results and X-rays, prescribe and manage medications and other therapies, provide health teaching and counseling to support healthy lifestyle behaviors, prevent illness and refer patients to other professionals as needed. The NP/PA provides high-quality, cost –effective and individualized care for the patients, families and communities.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS:
Minimum: A NP/PA who is currently licensed to practice in Arizona, in good standing

Central Michigan University, College of Medicine Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner is responsible for direct patient care and for other administrative duties as designated by the Dean and/or designee. This position will have a primary assignment in endocrinology with cross training in family medicine as part of an on-campus primary care practice serving university staff and the general community. The Medical Director provides the overall direction for all patient care activities.
NP or PA duties include, but are not limited to:
Providing medical services to patients, inclusive of all functions necessary to provide quality medical care, serving as an educational preceptor for the clinical staff including responding to questions/consultations of the staff, following medical protocols, handouts, and clinical standards. Experience with diabetes management and insulin pump management is a plus.
